From beggar to a shop owner
I am blind and my two children are also blind. Our family was fed by begging. There was no food to eat during Corona time. After knowing about Raghu sir, I spoke on the phone and told him our miserable condition. They immediately responded and gave cooking utensils and essential goods. Financial assistance was also provided to clear the debts. He is taking care of our family like a brother and father. Life would have been very difficult, if sir hadn’t helped us. Children are being treated at LV Prasad Hospital. My younger son’s eyesight has improved. By setting up a grocery store, we stopped begging and became self-employed. We are indebted to Raghu sir for life time.

Sir is our God
My daughter Manasa has been on bed for two years. I begged local leaders to help for the treatment, but they did not respond. Our situation is that we can make ends meet if we work daily. An article was written in Eenadu about the condition we are in. Raghu sir responded immediately and came home and understood our sad situation. Supported us like God. My daughter was taken to NIMS hospital 11 times by sir for her treatment. They bore the travel expenses themselves. Our girl once who confined to bed, she completed 10th standard and now she is studying inter in an open school.
Starving to sufficient food
We four members are disabled. We used to have only one meal a day. There was an article titled ‘Puttedu Duhkham’ in the Eenadu about our situation. Raghu sir came to our house, after seeing the news in the magazine. Three months’ worth of rice, pulses and other essential commodities were provided to satisfy our hunger. The house was repaired and painted. A new house was also built with the help of donors who came forward with the story today. Still providing assistance for medical and other expenses. We are taken to the hospital by his car and treated. If Raghu sir had not helped us, our problems would not have been solved. Sir filled our lives with light.
Helping in difficulty
We were lucky to find Raghu sir’s encouragement and support like a candle in the darkness. For us, the goal of doing something for the society was not possible due to poverty. They are supporting and encouraging the experiments I am doing for the welfare of the society. He promised to ‘be with me in times of trouble’ and is still giving help. Amma is being treated. Every month they provide financial help and remove the difficulties. He also helped my friends who were suffering from poverty.
Climbed Everest with the help of sir
I am from a remote village. My aim was to climb the Mount Everest. Somebody told me that it would cost Rs.30 lakhs. ‘By driving an auto, Where can I get that money from?” I thought. At the same time we came to know about Arikapudi Raghu sir and went to him and explained the whole matter. They gave me courage that said that they would be with me till I climb Mount Everest. Sir stayed with me until the goal was reached. I will never forget Raghu sir who made my dream come true which I thought was not possible.
